IMprovvisazione

"Improvvisazione" was born from an encounter with a pianist who had performed for decades, from piano bars to television programs: for him, music had become a constant pursuit of technique, precision, and virtuosity, as if the performance existed only in anticipation of applause. After a bereavement and an injury to his hand, the pianist stopped performing in public, and the freedom and self-presence inherent in improvisation became too intense a confrontation to face. In this work, the pianist exposes himself in a fragile and complex act, performing an improvisation. The piece focuses on the expressions that emerge: minimal, unconscious movements that offer a glimpse into the musician’s inner world in the act of playing. "Improvvisazione" seeks to create an experience by sharing with the viewer the intimacy of this moment.
