Residual
This work, part of an ongoing series, examines the liminal space between performance and its residual trace. It captures the hands of female pianists in the immediate moment after playing, as they lift from the keys and hover in suspension. In this post-action instant, the technical gesture dissolves into memory, and the hands remain as carriers of the sound they have just shaped. The work foregrounds the interplay between action and memory, sound and form, and the delicate persistence of performative energy beyond its execution.
